1 Year Anniversary.

This weekend me and Jake celebrated the big 1 year. It was honestly perfect.
I seriously could not ask for a better man.

The day started off with a few episodes of Gossip Girl. (We are on Season 4 and are obsessed). Then Jake surprised me with a custom bouquet of flowers and a citrus press. He knows me soooo well. I have been wanting a fancy citrus press forever. I use lemons and limes in so many recipes and having a citrus press makes life so much easier. It was the most romantic and thoughtful gift ever, because it was so me. I loved it.

For his gift, I have been working on a 1 year scrapbook for a couple of weeks with a section for each of the 12 months we've been together so far. Each month has a written entry of all the memories we had that month followed by pictures from those memories. The look on his face when I gave it to him was priceless. I have never felt more loved in my entire life. He loved it. He got choked up and couldn't say anything besides "It's so perfect", "You are so good to me" & "I love you". We were laughing and crying over all the amazing memories we have had so far & all my hard work on the scrapbook definitely paid off.

Later that night we went to Elements in Logan. It's probably one of the fanciest, if not the fanciest restaurants in Logan. It was AMAZING. It was seriously some of the best food I have ever had.
We ordered tropical calamari & ahi tuna rolls for an appetizer. After our appetizer I had the most delicious butternut squash soup with fresh warm rolls & homemade butter. For our entree's Jake had a turkey filet wrapped in bacon with maple pecan sweet potatoes and I had lobster ravioli with shaved asparagus and lobster risotto. It was one of the best meals we ever had.

The entire day was so amazing. I am such a lucky girl. It is such an awesome feeling to wake up everyday knowing the most incredible man is in love with me and always will be.

After our dinner

Cheese.

The scrapbook!

My citrus press and flowers.

His dinner.

My dinner.

Sunday morning we headed to Ogden for an old friend, Carson Fuller's homecoming. It was good to see old friends. We spent the rest of the day at my parents house with my brother and adorable nephew. I seriously love him so much. I didn't know he was going to be there and when I was walking up the stairs to the front porch he came outside and ran into my arms. I loved it. He is starting to talk a lot and he calls me "Shae Shae". He also says "pwease" a lot and is ALWAYS smiling. He is so funny. Sunday afternoon we played games with my family and it was fun but crazy. Playing games with Jake is NOT fun, he is such a poor loser & a poor winner. He rubs it in your face so bad. We were arguing so much and my family was laughing uncontrollably at us. It was all out of love and good fun, so in the end it was more of a laugh then anything.

Here's a link to a video of him saying "Shae Shae" & "Owwie".

My Best Friend Ice.

November 5th 2011.
This day will be remembered forever. It was the day I lost my best friend.
For those of you who follow this blog or are really close to me you know how much I love my dog Ice.
She has been sick for the last couple of months and yesterday was her last straw.
She was diagnosed with a disease called pancreatic insufficiency. Basically what happens is they can't digest there food and continuously lose weight until they die.
She stopped eating, weighed 30 pounds lighter than she should at her age and just couldn't hold on any longer. We made the decision to send her to a better place where she could be happy.
Saying my last goodbyes at the vet was by far one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It was even more painful to see that Jake was just as upset as I was. I haven't stopped crying and honestly am bawling hysterically as I type this. She had a great life and we will always love and remember her. She really was my best friend. She always put a smile on my face and was there for me no matter what. We watched movies under Jakes bed together, she helped me cook dinner (mostly by eating the scraps that fell on the ground), and did everything thing she could to make me happy. It's amazing how much a dog can become like a family member. Losing her has honestly been one of the hardest things I have had to go through in my life so far.

In remembrance of our baby girl, Evil Princess Ice, we love you and miss you. We can't wait to see you again in heaven.
