Red Velvet Cake Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

So last night I was doing my usual blog stocking and I stumbled upon these babies.

Your probably thinking the same thing I did, I want one now.
So I did just that, I drove to the store at 11:30 and got the stuff to make them.
Fair warning, these cookies are a two day process and take a lot of work but they are totally work it. Honestly the best cookie I have ever had.

For the recipe click here -------> best cookie ever

Also we randomly decided that we are road tripping to Denver, CO this weekend. Jake found a strong man competition that he wants to compete in, so we are packing up and heading to Denver. I have never been to Colorado so I am really excited, it should be lots of fun!

Addict.

Jake and I are currently addicted to this.
I know its old, but we recently got Netflix and now we can't stop watching it.
Best series ever. Watch it.

Also I got to see one of my good friends this last weekend. Miss Jadyn Stocker. I have missed her so much. It was good to see her and hang out with her for a night.

Also shout out to my grandparents who both turned 70 this week. Me and Jake are going to down to Maddox to celebrate on Saturday with the fam, I can't wait.

Grateful.

Today I am feeling a lot of gratitude and am doing this new thing where I try to find the positive in everything. Life is too short to get upset over the small stuff and I need to remember that. Sometimes I feel sorry for myself over stupid things, but when I think about it I have the best life ever. I know sometimes it may not be perfect, but it wasn't designed to be perfect. Life is about loving your flaws and learning from your mistakes.

I am grateful for these things:

1. A healthy body. I get down on myself a lot for not having the perfect body but when it comes down to it I am perfectly healthy, with not a health problem in sight. I have a boyfriend who thinks I am beautiful, and  it doesn't matter if I have a swimsuit model body because he likes it the way it is :)
2. My hair. People take hair for granite. I complain about having a bad hair day, or my hair not being long enough but in reality at least I have hair. So many cancer patients go through the challenge of losing their hair, and we're complaining about the color of our hair, its kind of pathetic. So I am very grateful to have hair.
3. Education. I am so grateful that I have the privilege to go to Utah State. Being a first generation college student, it means even more. I complain about school all the time but there is nothing I would rather do then be here getting ready to graduate next year. So many people outside of our country don't receive education past the 3rd grade let alone attend college. I am so grateful for the mass amounts of knowledge I am learning while studying cultural anthropology.
4. Roger. Roger is my vehicle and I love him very much. He was a graduation present from high school and he is the only expensive thing I actually own. My name is on the title, and it makes me so happy to actually own a car at 20 years old. Yes, it was a gift but that doesn't mean I can't be grateful for it. He gets me where I need to go, and I am so grateful for him.
5. Apartment. Even though I spend as little time as possible at my apartment, I am grateful to have a roof over my head every night. Even though me and Kaylie don't get along with the people we live with whatsoever, I am still grateful to be privileged enough to live in an apartment so close to campus.
6. Family. My mom is my best friend and always will be. I consider her my friend way more than I consider her my mom. I tell her everything, and when I say everything I really mean everything. She is the most understanding, non-judgemental person I have ever met in my life. She accepts everyone for who they are, and loves and tries to find the good in everyone she meets. She loves me no matter what, regardless of everything I have put her through. I always go to her for advice and she always knows the right thing to say. We have so much in common and have so much fun together. I am very grateful to have a best friend for a mom. I am also grateful for my daddy. At heart, I am a daddy's little girl. He may seem tough and mean on the outside but I know he loves me with his whole heart. He is my lifeline, he cares so much about where I am going in life and wants me to be successful, therefore he is the funding behind everything in my life, he gets up every morning and goes to work so that I have the opportunity to go to school and live away from home.  I couldn't be more grateful for a dad who spoils and loves the crap out of me. I am grateful for the rest of my family, my sister, brother, nephew, grandma, grandpa, and cousins.
7. Jake. I know I talk about him way too much but thats because he is my everything. I love that boy more than he will ever know. I am so grateful we found each other and I couldn't ask for a better man in my life. I am so grateful that he loves his Heavenly Father and believes in the church 100%. He is the kindest person I know, and would do anything for anyone if they needed it. He has the biggest heart and treats me like a princess. I love him more than anything, and I don't know where I would be without him. He loves me regardless of how needy I can be sometimes, and he loves me even though I'm a handful. That right there says a lot. He makes me a better person and inspires me to be even better. He leaves a permanent smile on my face, and we have the time of our lives together. I love Jake Rammell.
8. I am grateful for a Heavenly Father that loves me. People don't usually see me as this religious girl, but in reality and inside I love the gospel so much. I don't know where I would be without the church in my life. It took me a long time to get to this point in my life to be active in the church and to believe it with my full being. Yes, I still make mistakes and do things that I shouldn't be doing, but that doesn't mean my testimony becomes any less strengthened. No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes and its all part of the process. People will call me a hypocrite for participating in things non approved by the church but who are they to judge? God is the only one who can judge. Heavenly Father loves me and is there for me no matter what mistakes I make in my life. He knows my intentions, and knows I am working towards being more like him. I can't wait until the day I can walk into the temple.

Sorry that was longer then I thought it was going to be but I truly am in such a grateful mood today. Me and Jake are going down to Ogden tonight for one of my good friend Maddi's wedding. I can't believe she is getting married, it feels like yesterday we were in Cancun playing on the beach together. I wish her the best of luck and couldn't be happier for her. We are also meeting my parents, my favorite cousin/big sister Brandy, her husband Aaron and there three kids for dinner. I can't wait to see them, I miss them so much. I was so happy to get a text from Brandy this morning telling me they missed me and wanted to get together. It made my day. This weekend is going to be a good one :)

Have a happy friday.

Congrats Maddi, love you girl.

Spring Break Finale Post.

Thursday March 10th
Thursday morning me and Jake got up and decided to head down to the outlet mall to do some shopping. I ended up finding the cutest store ever called Papaya, it reminds me of Forever 21 but cuter. I bought 2 dresses, 2 shirts and a pair of shorts. I was super excited. Jake had a lot of luck shopping too, he bought not 1 but 3 pairs of shoes! Hiking shoes, running shoes, and sandals. It was a fun and successful shopping day! After a full day of shopping we headed back down to Hollywood to get ready for Art Walk in downtown LA. Art Walk is an event in downtown LA that covers like 5 blocks, it happens once a month and there's lots of live music, art exhibits, and vendors. We went to a cupcake bakery called Big Man Bakes, and ate delicious cupcakes! After cupcakes we went to dinner and had the best mac and cheese I have ever tasted, it was super yummy! It was such a fun night downtown.

Getting ready for Art Walk, wearing my new dress!

Friday March 11th
Friday me and Jake had a day to do our own thing, while Hill and Bryan did their own thing. We decided to do the whole Hollywood thing. We rode the metro to Hollywood Blvd. and did some exploring. There are some crazy people there. All sorts of people were dressed up as celebrities, trying to get tips for pictures. We saw all the stars on the ground, the Kodak Theater, the chinese theater place, and lots of other cool stuff! After exploring we had a tasty meal at California Pizza Kitchen, and went to Madame Tusseuds wax museum. It was super cool, these wax figures look so real its incredible. Me and Jake were like little kids running around taking pictures with these "stars". There was a part in the museum where you could make a wax mold out of your own hand, so Jake made a wax mold of his hand doing the I love you sign. It was tender :) After spending the day in Hollywood we went back to Bryan's to have a little dinner date and get in the hot tub. We made yummy pasta and just had a good time spending time alone!

Egyptian Theater!

Harrison Ford!

Looking over Hollywood Blvd.

Madame Tusseuds. I hate Kobe Bryant, this ones for my grandma :)

Jake and Rocky!

Jack Nicholson.

The I love you hand!

Spending a week in sunny California was much needed and we had a blast! I couldn't ask for a better Spring Break. The sunshine felt so healthy, after being in cold Utah all winter. We laughed a lot, we loved a lot, and we had a lot of fun. I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend to spend Spring Break with, he is the kindest, most loving, genuine man I have ever met. I fell in love him even more over this vacation, and am the happiest girl on the face of this earth. I was sad to come back to Utah but California made me appreciate my Utah home. I am born and raised a Utah girl and the California traffic makes me want to shoot someone. Other than the traffic Southern Cal is absolutely gorgeous and I would love to go back soon. I can't wait to go on our next adventure when we go to Moab here in the next few weeks to go rock climbing.

Spring Break Post #2

Tuesday March 8th
This day we woke up and headed down to Santa Monica for the day. Santa Monica is such a beautiful place, I had been there when I was younger but I didn't really remember it. We ate the best pizza ever at this place called Joe's right off the beach, and later at at my favorite Bubba Gump's. At Bubba's Jake ordered a bucket of crab legs but they accidentally brought out a bucket of crab legs + shellfish, so Jake told them it was the wrong thing and they said okay just eat that one and we'll bring you out a whole new meal of just crab legs, so he got 60 bucks worth of seafood for about 25 bucks, it was awesome because I got to eat half of it! After eating we explored Santa Monica Pier and walked along the beach where there was tons of acrobatic equipment so Jake and Bryan had a field day playing on the "adult" jungle gym.

I look like hell in this picture but our crab legs were delicious.

My awesome photographer skills of Jake climbing.

Wednesday March 9th
Wednesday was an awesome day. We woke up and got ready for a bike ride. We biked from Bryan's house through the mountains and ended up on the beach. It was beautiful weather and I got super sunburned which I loved. It felt good to ride a bike since I haven't done it since I was a little kid. When we got to the beach we buried Jake in the sand, and he didn't like it very much! Apparently sand is super heavy, and since he was all sandy we made him get in the water (which was freezing) before he could get in the car. After the bike ride we headed up to Santa Barbara, which is also gorgeous, to go to the zoo. I felt like a little kid I was so excited. I love the zoo. We saw lots of cool animals and the weather was perfect. That night Bryan's mom made a delicious brisket and we hot tubbed and watched Takers.

Our bike ride break, we found a cool tree.

My love :)

Thursday-Saturday I will post about later this afternoon :)

Best Spring Break Ever Post #1

Since my Spring Break was so long and wonderful, I am going to split it up into a few different posts, otherwise this blog post would be the longest thing ever.

Saturday March 5th
Me, Jake & our good friend Bryan departed for sunny Southern California bright and early at 4 a.m. 12 hours in a car with stinky boys was not the highlight of the trip but they did provide some entertainment along the way, first by changing the words of the "Teach Me How to Dougie" song, replacing Dougie with "Jake" or "Bryan" or "Shae". One of the classic lines was "Teach me how to Jake, Teach me how to Jake, he eats lots of steak." Oh man I love those boys. After 12 hours of their singing and stinkyness we arrived at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon at Bryan's families house in Newbury Park, which is located right next to Malibu. His parents house is absolutely gorgeous. I knew by the looks of it that we were going to have a great week.

Sunday March 6th
After getting settled in on Saturday afternoon, Sunday we decided to head down to Venice Beach. I had been to Venice Beach once and that was when I was 12 so I was excited to experience it with Jake who had never been there. The water was too cold to get in but I still loved the fact that I walked around in shorts. The people and attractions at Venice are crazy and out of this world. We went out on the jetty and saw thousands and thousands of muscles, it was really cool. Then we made our way through the boardwalk where I almost owned my first turtle. I have been wanting a turtle for a long time and there was a street vendor selling them for 10 bucks so naturally I jumped right on it and bought one. Unfortunately about an hour later some guy on the boardwalk told me that my turtle had salmonella and I was going to die so Jake sold it to some dumb little girls for 10 bucks. It was a sad moment. I had already named my turtle Tuna and everything :( oh well. After the turtle fiasco we were watching a street performer who decided to call Jake over to help him. It was really lame other than the fact that this guy could walk on broken glass bare footed. That night we just relaxed at Bryan's girlfriend Hillary's apartment.

Monday March 7th
Monday we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go on a hike. Originally we were going to hike up to the Hollywood sign but apparently its like a 4 hour hike and really not that cool so we decided to hike this place called Runyon instead. It overlooks all of Los Angeles, Hollywood & Beverly Hills area, it was gorgeous. We took Hillary's cute little dog with us and Jake decided to scare her by hanging him over the edge of a cliff, needless to say she was not too happy. But we were able to see the Hollywood sign perfectly. It was fun to get out in the fresh air and exercise. Later that night we went to Malibu to a place Bryan calls Secret Spot, it is this little secluded area on the beach. It was super peaceful and beautiful. We had a bonfire and roasted Starbursts and made delicious S'mores and just cuddled while listening to the waves break against the rocks. It was amazing.

This is a classic Jake and Shae moment.
