Christmas Break.

So this week will be the death of me. I have been SO bored. Jake is in Idaho till Friday and its so weird not being with him. Call me a baby, call me stupid, I don't care because this is my blog so I can say what I want. I miss him like crazy! Even though we talk on the phone several times a day, its just not the same. And due to continuing conflicts within our friendship group, and the fact that one of my best friends is halfway across the country till Friday, I basically have nothing to do. I know I could be proactive and find something to do, but I'm not so I'm going to complain about it, because, well just because I feel like it. On the bright side, life honestly is so great. I know I bitch about the little things but I do have such a wonderful family, boyfriend, and best friends. I am just ready for Friday to be here so I can see Jake, that's all :) We haven't exchanged Christmas gifts because honestly I haven't gotten his yet. Horrible I know, I feel like a terrible girlfriend because he got mine a month ago. Oops. What does a guy expect when your with him 24-7? He forgave me though don't worry. I guess I should have been a little bit more prepared. However, I am excited for what I am getting him. He's really been wanting all the materials needed to make homemade sushi, and there is a sushi making kit at Bed Bath & Beyond that I want to get him. Thats my blabbage for today. Yes I just made up the word blabbage.

Oh and a few more things I have to brag a tiny bit about this awesome Christmas present from my parentals. Victoria, I love you and your secrets.

Where to begin.

It's been awhile since my last post but things have been super crazy. Good and bad. Last Friday we left for Idaho to visit Jake's family for the weekend. Friday night we went to his sister Jessie's orchestra performance and then played Wii at his sisters house. Saturday we went up to Driggs to stay with his grandma for a few days. We went snowmobiling and I snowboarded down the hill and Jake drove me back to the top, it was super fun! But then as we pulled back into his uncles driveway the snowmobile hit an ice block and we tipped, the snowmobile landed on Jakes calve and he got a nasty contusion, it looked like an egg was stuck under his skin. I survived with a bruise to the hip but Jakes leg is still pretty nasty. The rest of the weekend we just relaxed with his grandma, ate a lot, slept a lot, and watched a lot of movies. It was a good weekend. I only took a few pictures but here they are.

Monday afternoon we headed to St. George to stay at our friend Tyson's house before we headed to Vegas the next day. WORST road trip ever, we got stuck in traffic in Provo for over and hour and then hit a snowstorm which resulted in dead stop traffic, we drove 36 miles in 3 hours, it was a nightmare. As soon as traffic started to clear out we were still driving in a snowstorm but we were going about 30 miles an hour downhill when a F450 truck with a trailer on the back comes speeding out control trying to squeeze in between us and the truck in the right line, he didn't make it, he hit us, we spun around and then he hit us again. He also hit the other truck. I have never been more scared in my entire life. Luckily Jake was driving and maneuvered us out of what  could have been a fatal crash. I was hysterically screaming and balling my eyes out but Jake calmed me down and reassured me that I was okay because at that point I wasn't sure I was. We both walked away without a scratch but Roger my Rav-4 wasn't so lucky. So needless to say we left Idaho at 11 in the morning and didn't arrive in St. George until 3 in the morning the next day, talk about a nightmare.

After our driving nightmare things got much better. We headed to Vegas Tuesday morning and ate breakfast at the Rainforest Cafe in MGM Grand, so yummy. Jake had never been there and he really liked it. Then I tortured Jake into shopping with me and we spent the day shopping in the Fashion Show Mall on the strip.  The Forever 21 there is absolutely amazing. I could have spent 3 days in there. Tuesday night we went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory in Caesars Palace with the other couple we went with, Tyson and Amanda. We hung out at The Stratosphere (where we were staying) and had a great time. Wednesday we ate some super good pizza and just relaxed before we went to the Utah vs Boise bowl game. The game was fun but it was a complete blowout. Later that night we went out to a Piano Bar which was way way fun, we danced the night away and ended up calling it a night around 3 am. It was the one of the most fun few days I have ever had. Thursday morning we headed home and got stuck in traffic once again but luckily after an hour it cleared out. We arrived in Ogden and watched Despicable Me with my mom which is actually a super super funny movie. We were pretty exhausted from driving so much that we went to bed early. Today we drove back to Logan and I said goodbye to Jake for a week so we can go spend time with our families for Christmas :( I am going to miss him! But I am such a happy girl. I have an amazing boyfriend that treats me like a princess and who I absolutely adore and the two best friends anyone could ask for Jenna Black and Kaylie Layton, the best parents ever and its Christmas Eve! Life is good.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from Vegas!

Obsessions.

My life has been taken over by Donkey Kong the last couple of days.
Me and Jake rented it and its honestly all we do. It makes me feel like a kid again.
Jake is determined to beat the game before we have to take it back to Hastings, we'll see if that happens.
Rent it, you'll love it.

Also this is one of my new obsessions.
Haute & Naughty Mascara by Mac.
It is the best mascara I have ever used, I love it.
It's expensive ($19) but try it, trust me.

I am excited for this week to be over, not only because finals will be done but me, Jake and friends are vacationing for a week, either going to Moab or California and from there we are heading to Vegas to go to the Utah vs Boise game. I LOVE Christmas break, and I have a feeling this is going to be a great one.
Also I hate shopping for boyfriends for Christmas, what the hell am I supposed to get Jake? Someone give me some ideas pleash.

Change.

I have come to a conclusion.
People in your life come and go.
People change for the better and for the worse.
Over the course of this week I have learned to let go.
Let go of my past
Let go of people who don't treat me the way I should be
Let go of bad habits
Let go of my materialistic ways
I've learned that the people I had previously been
surrounding myself with were changing me for the worse.
I've learned that all these people cared about were the opposite sex,
alcohol, and looking attractive.
I learned that I too was becoming like them.
I am almost grateful for the dramatic events this week
because it has opened my eyes.
I am not the person I was pretending to be in the presence
of those who I called my friends.
I've learned that the people who truly care
about you will always be there for you, no matter what.
I've also learned that besides your family these people
come in few quantities.
So thank you to my family and the few friends
that have and will always be there for me.
Thank you to Jake and the new friends in my life
you've given me a new perspective towards living
and I am so ever grateful for you all.
It feels great to just take a deep breath and LET GO.
Life is an journey, and I can't wait to see where it takes me.

True Colors.

I had a great birthday weekend.
Saturday me and Jake went to dinner in Salt Lake at the Cheesecake Factory with my family.
We waited in line for two hours but in the end it was worth it. We had a great time.
After, my family headed home and we went and visited some of Jakes friends then went dancing at Studio because I can't really get into anywhere else. It was so funny, we were probably 2 of 5 white people in the entire place. I swear we were in Mexico. Nevertheless we danced our booties off and had a great time. Sunday we went to church with my family and made chip dip and potstickers with my momma. It was delicious. Later Sunday afternoon my dad rented Day and Knight with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Stupidest movie ever, my dad and Jake hated it. I thought it was kind of funny. It was a great couple of days with the fam.

Here's some pics from the festivities.

Jhett-ster knows how to scuzz already.

My cute grandparents.

Me and Jake :)

Jhett and Teag about to eat their cheesecake.

So then came Monday my actual birthday. I slept in till about noon when Jake came and woke me up. He surprised me with a new wallet because if you saw the one I had you would laugh. It's actually super super cute, I was proud of him. We played some Mario Kart and I kicked his trash as usual. Then I headed home and me, Michele and Stef made better than sex cake and red velvet cupcakes. I couldn't decided between the two so I just made both. Oops. Later about 16 of us went to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate my birthday. Everyone was crazy as usual but it was good time. After dinner all hell broke loose. I won't go into details but people that I thought were my friends showed their true colors and let's just say it was so bad I am no longer friends with most of the people I attended dinner with. They have a lot of growing up to do and I won't associate myself with people who treat me the way they treated me last night, end of story. It was a dramatic night but Jake helped me forget about it and we went to our friend Hayley's house and celebrated my bday with some of our other friends. Thanks to Jake, Hayley, Mitts, Derek and Bryan my birthday night ended up being a great night minus all the drama earlier. The last couple days have made me really appreciate my family, Jake and my new friends. Thank you guys for being there for my 20th birthday. You guys are amazing.

At Texas Roadhouse.

They made us ride the saddle for our birthday.

Brunette.

I am once again a brunette. Every time I go back to dark hair I wonder what my brain was thinking when I wanted it to be blonde. It looks so much better brown. It's just me. I'll have to post a picture soon but not right now as I currently lay in Jakes oversized sweats and old USU shirt looking like a complete bum.

Anyway. I found these gems on my computer the other day and this is why Kaylie Layton is and will be my best friend forever.

Not sure when these were taken or why. But thats the beauty of it.
Isn't she great?
